Sleep-related eating disorder (SRED), also known as sleep eating, refers to a condition in which you devour unusual items while asleep. During an episode, you engage in uncontrollable and unconscious eating and drinking.
SRED is a parasomnia and a form of sleepwalking that is dangerous due to the ingestion of consumption of toxic substances or the threat of falls or using appliances, like the stove.
