Kleine-Levin syndrome is when patients suffer from periods or episodes of hypersomnia. These episodes may last up to a couple of weeks. The duration of sleep can be very long, for 20 hours on occasions. Patients are entirely symptom-free between hypersomnia periods. Kleine-Levin Syndrome patients are most frequently males.
