Hypnagogic foot tremor happens at the beginning of the sleep in a single leg or both legs. Patients usually don’t wake up. Sometimes bed partners may notice these tremors. Hypnagogic foot tremor is a benign condition and can be left untreated. Alternating leg muscle activation is another benign condition that doesn’t require treatment and is a type of hypnagogic foot tremor.
