Sleep Talking

Home Sleep Talking
Sleep talking, also called "somniloquy," is an abnormal behavior that is considered one of the parasomnias. One can talk during their sleep regardless of their sleep phase; therefore, it is challenging to categorize sleep talking as a REM or NREM-related parasomnia. When it happens at the REM phase, it is generally the vocalization of the speech in the dream. It represents a difficulty in arousal when it occurs in the NREM phase.
