Home REM Sleep Onset (SOREMP)
In normal sleep, NREM sleep stages are experienced first. This phase takes about 70 minutes. At the end of these 70 minutes, the person goes into REM sleep. Apart from this usual cycle, the initiation of REM sleep within 15 minutes of the onset of sleep is called SOREMP, or sleep-onset REM period.
