Periodic Movements of Sleep (PMS)

Home Periodic Movements of Sleep (PMS)
Periodic sleep movements are also known as nocturnal myoclonus and are characterized by repetitive contractions that occur during sleep. Typically, hip, knee, and ankle flexion (dorsiflexion) and big toe extension are seen. They do not happen during wakefulness, which is important in distinguishing them from other movement disorders.
