A type of sleep that one does not wake up feeling refreshed rested afterward is called nonrestorative sleep. This type of sleep has no unique electroencephalography (EEG) signs or other symptoms. The definition of nonrestorative sleep is made according to one's subjective expression. After a nonrestorative sleep, there may be difficulties in attention, memory, or motivation during the day.
