Home Hypersomnia Due to a Medical Disorder
Hypersomnia describes a medical condition in which a patient suffers from excessive sleepiness. It can be secondary to another medical condition (secondary hypersomnia), or it can be without any underlying diseases (primary hypersomnia). The most common reasons that cause secondary hypersomnia are psychiatric, neurological, or endocrinological diseases and medication or substances.
