Hypersomnia is defined by long-sleep time and not awakening the next day. It can be the main problem caused by another medical condition or associated with diseases, like Parkinson's disease and chronic fatigue syndrome. Some symptoms include loss of appetite, irritability, restlessness, and slow thinking. Brain functionality or medications be the cause of hypersomnia. A sleep diary is often used to diagnose the disorder.
