Cyclic Alternating Pattern (CAP)

Home Cyclic Alternating Pattern (CAP)
Cyclic alternating pattern (CAP) is a unique wave pattern observed in the sleep time recorded electroencephalography (EEG), a technique used to record brain waves. CAP occurs during the NREM phase of sleep, which means that sleep is not stable. This two-phased pattern may disappear in some sleep disorders. EEG records are accepted as diagnostic criteria and need to be read by a specialist.
