Alpha Intrusion

Home Alpha Intrusion
Electrophysiological activities in the brain during REM sleep are well defined. EEG waves during REM sleep have low amplitude and a mixed frequency course. When alpha waves disrupt this condition, sleep quality is reduced, leading to alpha intrusion. Chronic fatigue and inability to rest are common symptoms of people whose sleep is interrupted this way.
